| Where there is transformation, I find a place of risk, vitality, playfulness, vulnerability and a kind of poetry of the edge which I wish to explore On the edge of balance, rhythm begins. On the edge of quiet is the beginning of song. My work celebrates this mystery. | ||||||||||||||||

Patricia Pidoux Bio: Always intrigued by ideas of perception and the cosmos, my painting tends toward a lyrical abstraction. Usually my medium is watercolour, oil or acrylic, often on a sculpted ground. I am an Honours graduate of the Ontario College of Art and Design (Fine Art) and have been painting and drawing since my early years in Montreal, with side excursions into teaching, travel and the raising of three sons. I have taught as an Ontario Ministry of Education Art Specialist, and hold a Bachelor's degree from Queen's University, Kingston, where I studied with Andre Bieler, the resident artist. Also, I have enjoyed being an occasional guest lecturer on the art and artists of France, and especially of Provence, at the University of Toronto School for Continuing Education. In September 2001 and September 2002, I organized and led a trip for twenty painters to Provence, a favourite destination of mine." Now a signature artist of the Toronto Watercolour Society, I have also exhibited with the Ontario Society of Artists, the Society of Canadian Artists, and the International Art Exhibit, Buffalo, New York, and won numerous awards. My work is in collections in Canada, the United States and Great Britain. Telephone: (905) 642-8150 |
