Hatiras

With blinding speed, sound waves of futuristic funk whiz through the night sky. The pulsating rhythms intensify as the star-ship gently touches down in an open field on planet earth. Beams of disco light penetrate the settling cosmic dust as Hatiras the spaced invader emerges.
Hailing from galaxies unknown, yet based in his top secret Toronto studio, Hatiras’ explosive productions have sent a shockwave of astronomic proportions rippling through the music industry. Nurtured from childhood, his intense passion for music, which derives from drum & bass, techno, funk, disco and house, has inspired the production of his funk-filled, energetically engineered tracks. Blasting to stratospheric heights, Hatiras’ space-rocketing tunes are burning up during reentry and landing him at the forefront of the house and dance music scene.
Although Hatiras has received significant attention recently, he is no newcomer to the electronic music world. In 1993, Hatiras, along with two close friends, established a promotions company called Liquid Adrenaline, which steadily grew to become one of North America’s largest and most influential. Their events attracted as many as 10,000 partygoers from America and Canada and featured some of the leading names in the house and dance music scene. It was through this channel that Hatiras fine-tuned his musical talents and formed relationships with many of the key players in the business.
Hatiras’ music career took off when he joined forces with music industry powerhouses Bad Boy Bill and Michael Ryden of Chicago based label Mix Connection Multimedia. Their first collaboration was released on Mix Connection subsidiary International House Records (IHR) and was an instant success. The atomic blast of Hatiras’ creation “Liquid Adrenaline Sessions 1,” vaporized the borders of music and technology and included the hit track “Digital Doom,” which gained Hatiras substantial recognition.
His subsequent releases were just as powerful, however it wasn’t until the release of his chart-rocketing single “Spaced Invader,” which was launched on Defected Records, that the world got to know Hatiras. Exalted as one of the most successful house anthems of the new millennium, this technologically advanced, funk encoded song has been tracked at the number one position on Coolcuts and the UK’s Buzz Chart, and was repeatedly acclaimed as Pete Tong’s “Essential New Tune.” Featuring additional remixes from Hatiras, CZR, Olav Basoski, Darren Emerson, Ian Pooley, King Unique, J-Majik, Optical and High Contrast along with the exemplary vocal talents of Basement Jaxx companion Slarta John, Spaced Invader’s magnetic rhythms and alluring remixes have captured the attention of music lovers and industry peers alike.
Revered for his phasing beats and stunning grooves, Hatiras’ extravagant remix style accompanies the original productions of artists such as pop diva Kylie Minogue, disco queen Loletta Holloway, Kevin Irving, Junior Jack, Ministers De La Funk (Eric Morillo, Jose Nunez and Harry “Choo Choo” Romero), Tom Novy, Olav Basoski and The Bomfunk MCs to name a few. His zany remixes have been featured on many of the biggest labels in the house music world including IHR, Azuli, Defected, Manifesto, Ministry of Sound, Parlophone, V2 and Sony. Hatiras’ vibrant production style and elevating remixes have sent him soaring to the top of the charts and play-lists of DJs worldwide.
Receiving continuous support in clubs and heightening numerous mix compilations, Hatiras’ funky sounds can be heard complimenting the sets of DJs like Bad Boy Bill, Carl Cox, Dave Clarke, Judge Jules, Eric Morillo, Danny Rampling, Roger Sanchez, Danny Tenaglia, Pete Tong and The Chemical Brothers. With his energetic and wacky frequencies modulating the dance music scene, radio stations around the planet picked up the signals.
Hatiras’ spaced out sounds have spun their way into rotation on radio airwaves across the earth, including regular airplay in countries as far-off as South Africa, Australia, and Japan, as well as in Europe and North America. Along with the airplay he receives, Hatiras has also performed for the masses on countless celebrated radio shows including Kiss FM programs hosted by the Sharp Boys and Tall Paul, Radio One in the UK, and recurring appearances on Toronto’s Global Groove Radio. Drawing listeners worldwide, Hatiras has undeniably made a massive global impact and has no trouble keeping the clubs crowed with his supporters eager to join the gathering.
With a high-powered style of DJ-ing equivalent to that of his producing and remixing, Hatiras keeps dance floors abound with partiers. Having played across Canada, the United States, South America, Australia and Europe, including a rare performance as one of the only North American DJs to ever play at London’s legendary club “Trade,” his vigorous sets have generated a media shower of press releases splashing onto the pages of a myriad of industry magazines.
Featured in trade publications 7, DJ, Face, Jockey Slut, M8, Ministry, Mixmag, Loud, Move-X, gracing the cover of Klublife and appearing on television too many times to mention, Hatiras’ career continues to boom. His fusion of fun-filled futuristic funk has solidified his place in the industry and is a sure sign that this star will not fade away anytime soon. Several forthcoming projects include the world release of his full-length album “Arrival”, which will be materializing in 2002. The future of music is here now and hovering at the zenith is Hatiras, the spaced invader.
